Chapter 2: Time has a Funny way of ticking

Chapter 2: Time has a Funny way of ticking

I can still remember when I first decided I to train full time. I was in Russellville, KY and Pedro was like in 6th or 7th grade and he was Hell Bent on getting better. During that time I was still in college playing ball, so I had TUNNEL VISION all I did was workout and hoop.. I was obsessed with getting better I would run the stadium, go lift weights, do a skill workout in the hot sun then wait for the text for the hoop session, I would play anywhere against anyone I just wanted to get better. Pedro’s game was very raw, but he had tons of untapped potential & he had the same kind of love for the game as I did. He always asked to workout when I seen him and finally one day we got in gym!

|SB: at this point I did not consider myself a trainer, I spent a lot of time working on my game with my Mentor Terry Boykin, and I would always ask questions on why, when, where, and how to do the things he was teaching me. All I did was take the knowledge that I learned from him and the experience from playing in college and applied it to when I trained myself & others|

Me and Pedro continue to workout that summer & I went off to school to play ball and had begin leading individual workouts with my teammates. Time went by and I came back to Russellville and Pedro is taller, and he has gotten so much better! He tells me he has been doing the drills we worked on everyday since I left and is ready to get better again this summer... we repeat the process for the next 4-5 summers. Pedro’s Senior Year was my first year out of college and I am a volunteer assistant for the legendary coach Phil Todd. I was excited because I have an opportunity to coach Pedro and see him in real game situations. He had a really good year and is a Top 3 ranked player in the state.. & were didn’t have to sneak in gyms anymore lol Pedro went on to be a Mr. Basketball finalist Play in multiple All Star Games and was invited to the some big time Camps including the NBPA Top 100 camp.. ultimately signing to Belmont University. I go create the Social Media pages and we start uploading content... The Buzz starts to grow about MILE So that summer I expanded to training in other cities and I had a large impact in Clarksville, TN, Hopkinsville, KY & Bowling Green, Ky.

The summer of ‘17 was game changing for #TheBrand

STATUS UPDATE….

Concerning my diet, I have started a fruit diet. I purchased a blender and I blend frozen fruit and V8 to Replace my Lunch, I have slowed down on Fast Food & Fried food.

I have also started dedicating myself to getting up early before work to eat breakfast and do 6AM workouts Monday- Thursday. I have been more active in workouts especially on defensive end. Which is also going to help my clients with their development.

I have purchased a dry erase board to help with my daily time management. This is a regimen that will allow me to be more efficient with my time, and schedule time for myself. I also purchased a business cell phone which will allow me to not miss business calls, because i know if your calling this phone is business. Sometimes I have “only child syndrome lol” were i don’t want to be bothered and I allow my phone to die so I can have uninterrupted time to myself. As much as I enjoy the attention the brand has, it gets overwhelming at times balancing being a parent a coach a trainer & Etc. But i am confident that the Life adjustments I am making will prevent myself from feeling overwhelmed

Now I have slacked off too…

I still have not started reading books although i did reach out to my longtime friend Dre’ and he recommended some books that i would be interested in and would help me become a more well rounded.

I have not started working out at home or in the weight room or running as I anticipated I would. But i am going to continue to strive for better physical health for myself.
